Holiday Inn Columbus

Breakfast was inedible, and the way the hotel handled my reservation was worse. They increased the price of my booked room and blamed demand pricing. At checkout, I was told nothing could be done and to call the manager. When I asked the manager by phone to honor the booking, she laughed and hung up. I’d avoid this place because of those shady business practices.

I checked out a day early and moved to Marriott. The upstairs restaurant served me a burnt, overcooked steak, and I still paid $22 for it. The front desk employee was rude, and the woman running the bar acted like my being there was a nuisance. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel because of how I was treated. I usually stay at IHG hotels, but after this disappointing visit I’m thinking about other options.

Breakfast was awful, and the server seemed like he didn’t want to do his job. The eggs were hard and dried out, the French toast was poor, the sausage was half burnt, and the potatoes were cold. There was hardly any bacon, even though hardly anyone was eating there. We had to ask for orange juice, which they kept behind the counter. The server came across as lazy and very unfriendly.

After supper, a dog in the room next to ours started barking and kept at it without stopping for more than two hours. We’d been in our room for hours with no issue before that. We called the office and asked them to move the people with the dog since we weren’t causing the problem. They said no rooms were available, then in the same breath said they could move us. So at 9:45 p.m. we had to pack up and move two floors up. What a relaxing vacation. If it hadn’t been so late, I would’ve asked for a refund and gone somewhere else.
