The reply doesn’t change the fact that the hotel assigns the rooms and is responsible for providing a clean one, no matter how I booked. There were clearly other rooms available, since I was eventually placed in one after paying for another. There’s no excuse for this. We reported the strong urine smell in our assigned room less than 10 minutes after check-in and asked to move. Instead of offering a comparable room, staff said our dog had already entered and the only option was to cancel without a refund and pay for another room. Their claim that the room couldn’t be resold because of my dog makes no sense. It was uninhabitable before the dog ever stepped inside, and they ignored that they’d given us an unsanitary room. The front desk worker was dismissive, said she smelled “nothing,” and refused to compare it with one of the other four rooms I’d booked, even though the difference was extremely noticeable. The window seat cushions also had what looked like feces stains. I’m appalled by the room’s condition and the lack of accountability from staff and management. We had to spend extra money just to get a sanitary, comfortable room. Customer service and problem solving were very disappointing. I’d planned to stay here every year, but I’ll never set foot in this hotel again.

It’s about a 20-minute drive to downtown Columbus, yet the hotel is in a quiet area. There’s a Shell gas station close by, but far enough away that it doesn’t bring noise. The dog park is small but very well maintained, and waste bags were always available. The parking lot is brightly lit, the place is organized and always clean, and I’ve never had a security issue. All the employees are friendly and helpful, with Southern hospitality. For all those reasons, I always stay here when I come to Columbus.

The night shift woman made our check-in easy after a stressful flight. I wish I’d gotten her name, she was lovely. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean, and I really enjoyed it. The showerhead wasn’t working, but we reported it at the front desk, went out, and it was fixed by the time we got back. There’s also a gym, so if you’re a gym girlie, you can definitely get a workout in. For the price, this is a solid motel in Columbus, Georgia.

Breakfast wasn’t bad, though a few more tables might help. The two women who checked us in and out were very nice, and the room was the cleanest we’ve ever had, even compared with pricier hotels. The bathroom was immaculate. Kudos to the cleaning staff. We’ll stay again if we pass through the area.
