Residence Inn Columbus Polaris

The room was great, and the hotel has a free breakfast, gym, and pool. Room service was the letdown. They brought towels, but never topped up the soap or anything else. It felt like they made the bed and changed towels, then stopped there. Aside from that, it’s a great hotel.

We were in town for a Buckeye game and reached the hotel in under 20 minutes. Campus was easy to get to as well, and there’s a great mall right behind the property. My brother recommended this place, and we had a nice room. The staff were friendly and answered our questions about the area. A good hotel to keep in mind for a stay. Thanks, Marriott!

My reservation was cancelled because the hotel needed clarification, but Kim Black, the General Manager, cancelled it instead of contacting me. I showed up to find it gone. When I asked why no one had reached out beforehand, I was told they were “not required to contact” me. That response reflects the poor customer service I experienced, and I’d avoid this Marriott property. Kim Black does not follow Marriott protocols, in my experience, and if you have a problem, they apparently feel they’re “not required” to help. There are plenty of other Marriott properties and chains nearby. When you call, ask whether Kim Black is the General Manager. If so, I’d stay somewhere else.

We come to Columbus, Ohio now and then, and this Residence Inn is our usual choice. It’s at Polaris Fashion Place, close to the Columbus Zoo, Ohio State University, Westerville, and plenty more. If you haven’t been to Polaris, that’s a whole separate topic. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast is awesome. They recently added $10 a day for security after some car break-ins. We had no problems, and I felt the charge was money well spent. We’ll be back next time we’re in Columbus.
