The third room was cleaner, and the bed itself was clean, though hard. There was no blanket, just an old polyester bedspread that I hope had been washed recently. Its orange chair was stained and dusty, so we left it alone. The towels were so rough and thin I used my T-shirt to dry off. I wouldn’t stay again unless they make changes. I want to support small local businesses, but housekeeping and management need work. The first room my husband booked online was really dirty. The bedding hadn’t been changed and was stained, and the bathroom sink and floor were dirty too. Two orange chairs had all sorts of stains and looked like they’d never been cleaned. I asked at the office for another room. The man there was polite, seemed concerned, and gave me another key. I barely stepped into the second room before the stale cigarette and pot smell made it a no. The man who checked us in had tried his best to accommodate us, and I know from service jobs that sometimes someone just doesn’t clean well.

We had a wonderful stay with our family. The hotel was comfortable and quiet, and the affordable room price didn’t come at the expense of quality or service. The maid was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The owners and management were courteous and went above and beyond. I’m grateful we got to meet them and stay there. I’d recommend it to family and friends.

The only real plus was being near the freeway and fast food. The price was ridiculously high for such poor quality, and I didn’t feel very safe. The front desk woman was very nice, though. I asked for a non-smoking room and was told it had been smoked in but thoroughly cleaned. The heavy cigarette smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. If I hadn’t been exhausted, I’d have gone to a Red Roof or Motel 6. Either would have cost less and been in better shape. Sleeping in my car would’ve been better. Royal, it is not.

I paid a $50 deposit, left for work at 4am, and there was nobody in the office when I headed out. After two weeks the money still hadn’t gone back on my card. When I called, they told me I had to let them know when I was leaving to get the deposit refunded. It feels like they’re trying to hustle you out of your deposit.

After passing through four towns without finding anywhere to stay, I tried this little place at almost 1:00AM. The Quality Inn next door had offered an overpriced room for the time being. Here I got a decent room with a king size bed. The bathroom tile was beautiful, though the carpet could use more attention. There’s a Waffle House next door, which is a nice bonus. At $70 it may be a bit overpriced, but it wasn’t too bad for the night.
