The staff were the one good part of our stay, very helpful and courteous. But the mattresses were so worn that we could feel the springs, and we kept waking up uncomfortable. After paying for three days, I expected better beds. It's shameful they charge what they do for third-rate mattresses. The front desk said the owners don't want to spend money on upgrades, even though the beds need it. I won't return until they're replaced, and I wouldn't recommend spending your hard-earned money here.

The gym was a letdown, with no weight machines, just treadmills and free weights, and no mat. Breakfast was so-so too: bad coffee and only plastic plates and cutlery, though the yogurt was nice. I found crumbs on the desk when I arrived, and the TV turned itself on around 6 pm each evening. The room was okay. The location wasn't ideal, since there was almost nowhere to walk to, and even a few fairly nearby restaurants meant walking along snow-covered sidewalks.

We had a peaceful night's sleep, though the bed could use an update eventually. Check-in was easy, and the staff were helpful with suggestions for food and other things nearby. The room was cozy and very clean. There are lots of food and convenience options within walking distance. The free breakfast was a big plus on our road trip to Michigan, more than halfway through the drive, and it was really good with plenty of choices and coffee. The hotel also has a pool, workout area, laundry rooms, and vending machines. We had a top-tier stay and would recommend it. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times before and had good experiences, so I booked a five-day stay last week. The day before, I called to ask whether my employee could be added to the room to check in. I was told that was fine. But when he arrived on Sunday, October 5th, he was turned away. Luke, the onsite assistant manager, said I had to be there myself. I’ve never run into this at other Marriott hotels, and I’m a lifetime Platinum member. Luke said my employee could check in if I completed a pre-authorized credit card form. I was on my phone, away from a computer, so I asked what we could do. He offered to send the form through DocuSign. The form arrived blank, and I didn’t have my reading glasses to read it. It felt lazy and not at all customer focused. After going back and forth on the phone with Luke and my employee for several minutes, I asked whether I should cancel and find another hotel. Luke replied, “Our hotel is located next to The Ohio State University and we will have no problem renting the room to someone else.” I said I’d call Marriott’s 1-800 number, and Luke immediately emailed me a cancellation. I couldn’t believe it. Marriott said they could reinstate the reservation, but after dealing with Luke’s rude, unprofessional response, I chose to spend my money at a Hilton instead. I’ve seldom met someone so unprofessional and business ignorant. Stay away from this hotel!
