Hotel Giles

We spent 10 days and 9 nights here, and the courteous, professional staff made the vacation. Thanks to Ernie, Cara, Dora, Irene, Meredith, Anna and Don. It has a great hometown feel, and the hotel itself has an authentic character. Our room was a good size and had more than enough amenities for a comfortable stay. The location worked well for visiting Fredericksburg, Kerrsville and Boerne. There’s plenty to see and do, and it’s close to city conveniences without being in a big city. We’ll definitely return.

The courtyard gazebo was a lovely place to sit, relax and talk. I spent some time whittling there. We also appreciated the breakfast, which was nicely made at the hotel rather than being food service items. The staff were very friendly, and Hotel Giles is a beautiful property. There are several good antique shops within walking distance, too.

The owners, Ernie and Cara, made us feel welcome, and by the end of our extended vacation we felt like family. Every staff member was amazing. We loved the property’s history and quaint atmosphere, and the breakfast was wonderful every day. It’s well placed for day trips to nearby areas, or for staying in and walking along Comfort’s little main street.

We got some especially thoughtful birthday touches, with chocolates at reception and more in our room for my husband. On Friday evening there was a complimentary happy hour with tasty food and drinks, plus a talented regional musician playing in the parlor by reception. It gave the place a warm, authentic feel. The room was spotless and spacious, and the bed was so comfortable we had one of our best nights of rest on a trip. The homemade breakfast was delicious and included in the price, and they also provided complimentary water. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel Giles has its historic charm beautifully cared for. Even the lovely scent in the reception area when we arrived helped set a relaxing mood. We had a wonderful visit, and it’s a gem in Comfort, Texas.
