Courtyard by Marriott Concord

The bathrooms could use more careful cleaning, especially in the shower corners where there was a strange reddish color. The rooms themselves were clean, though. We keep coming back for the pool, hot tub, and bar, and it’s convenient to have those here so you don’t have to leave and risk your license. There’s an in-house restaurant too, and the food is excellent. I’m pretty picky and still left satisfied.

The first room had what looked like every kind of bodily fluid on both comforters. The man working there was kind and really tried to help, but the second room had old pink stains of some unknown substance on top of the comforters. In the third, one comforter had dried mucus on it. We checked in at 8:30 pm and were checking out by 11, without having booked somewhere else yet. I’d used Marriott points for a four-night stay. They refunded the points, but I ended up paying $300 a night at Hotel Concord. The manager replied and said they found nothing, despite what my family saw and photographed. Make of that what you will.

The pool was quiet and clean, with plenty of towels. Parking was easy, the place was easy to find, and customer service was great. They even called back to say the rooms I’d wanted originally had opened up, then switched my reservation without any trouble.

The room was spotless and well stocked, and the location was great with easy access to the pool. The only letdown was the little restaurant. Its food was dry and overpriced.
