Americas Best Value Inn/carlisle

By about 1 a.m., after more than 12 hours on the road, I was too exhausted to keep arguing, so I loaded up and drove on. I’d stopped at the AB in Carlisle, Arkansas by chance when fatigue hit on my drive home to Bentonville. The price seemed fair, and the room looked mostly clean, though I killed two spiders. About 15 minutes after checking in, around 12:30 a.m., I was in bed when I felt things crawling and biting me. There was a whole family of mosquitoes in the room. I asked politely to move, but when I opened the next room, a swarm of angry, bloodthirsty mosquitoes rushed at me. I went straight back to the desk and asked to check out. The man there, Phillip I believe, said I’d signed a waiver saying the room wasn’t refundable after 10 minutes. I asked for a manager. After asking how old I was and hearing I was 22 (I’m actually 24), the manager said I could leave with a $10 charge for my 15-minute stay. I didn’t have the energy to argue further, signed the receipts, and left. If you need somewhere decent, try the Motel 8 in North Little Rock. The area isn’t great, but the price is right and my room was clean. America’s Best may not know it yet, but I’m disputing the $10 with my credit card company because the waiver doesn’t say that anywhere. You lose, mosquito- and spider-infested Americas Best.
