Executive Inn

I've been staying here for seven months for work, and now it's time for me to go. The owners are wonderful, kind people. The rooms are big, very clean, and really nice. It's only a short drive to Amarillo, and I've liked it much more than staying anywhere in Amarillo.

I was happy with the room once I opened the door. It was very clean, with a good-sized bed, and clearly had been refurbished and remodeled despite the building's old style. The $80 price for one night in late December 2024 seemed high at first, but with today's economy and rising minimum wages, it was fair. From a distance the place can look like a hole in the ground, and the odd location beside a Love gas station, away from the center of town, might seem sketchy if hotels with this appearance have let you down before. That night the property was run by a foreign lady who was extremely nice and direct on the phone. They don't allow pets and ask how many people are staying. It was just me, so I don't know whether the rate changes for more than one guest. There were some problems in room 108. The TV turned on but stayed frozen and wouldn't change channels. The toilet had a slow leak at the plunger and ran all night. The fridge made some noise as it cycled on and off, as did a couple of other electronic devices, with occasional tapping sounds. You can hear the nearby highway constantly, too. I considered asking for another room over the toilet and TV, but the noise wasn't enough to put me off. I'd stay again.

The staff are lovely, understanding, and quick to help with whatever you need. The hotel is in good shape, and the rooms have plenty of space and feel comfortable. I'm very happy with my stay and look forward to spending more time here.

We picked this place after reading the reviews, and it turned out to be clean, comfortable, and affordable. It's not fancy, but it's very well kept. The sheets looked new, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with new fixtures. You can tell it was recently renovated down to the studs. It's far enough from the highway that it stays quiet, and the AC hum drowned out the other sounds. It's also a good choice if you're visiting Merus Adventure Park, south of Claude.
