Motel 6 Conway

My room was on the third floor because I had a pet, and it was the first time I've had to bring my pet out to the car for the attendant to see her. The room needs an update: dirty carpet, old curtains, and poor bedding. It's a shame they don't update pet rooms too. I've stayed at quite a few Motel 6s, and my rooms there were always clean and updated. I've never had a third-floor room before.

We canceled right away. The room and surrounding areas were filthy, with overflowing trash everywhere. There was moldy food in a nightstand, and both nightstands had trash stuffed into their cable access holes. The air vent was dirty and rusty. You get what you pay for.

The checkout was the part that bothered me most. After many stays at Motel 6, our hotel of choice, no one had ever told us we couldn't check out until staff inspected the room. We were told to put our bags in the car and wait while they checked, which felt rude. We're seniors, and I tidy the room before we leave. There should be clear guidelines for this. My daughter just moved to Conway, and I'd planned to use this motel when visiting, but I'll look for somewhere with staff who don't handle checkout that way. The room itself was nice, with a big comfortable bed and a large, clean bathroom. The older building had a slight mildew smell, and the elevator made me uneasy.

The staff were awesome, and the room was clean and nice. There was a faint stale smell from the humidity, but it wasn't overwhelming. I wish other Motel 6s were this pleasant. If I'm back in Conway AR, I'd stay here again. Bring your own shampoo, though, and the pool was closed in hot August?
