Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Conyers

We checked in for the weekend of October 4th. The lobby looked decent, but the elevator certificate I checked was expired as of 2024. The hallways smelled and were filthy, with wall stains, smeared carpet, trash, and crumbs. Our first room had a loose, peeling door, a ceiling caving in from water damage, a strong mold smell, sticky floors, and carpets that looked and smelled like they had never been cleaned. There was food on the floor, stains on the walls, blood on the bed and curtains, unattached pieces of wood above the AC at the window, excessive humidity, and cockroaches behind the bed. We changed rooms, but the second one smelled of wet dog and was about as dirty, though at least it had been vacuumed. I'd say this place should be shut down permanently. It's nasty.

There were ladybugs all over both windows, and stains on the curtains, mattress, and floors and carpets. The sink handle was missing a screw and fell off when I tried to turn off the water. The place has stoves but no pots or pans. I also saw that the elevator hadn't been inspected since last year, and construction had been shut down by the city. A notice said the fire sprinkler system wasn't working properly. The list could go on. Everything about my stay was terrible, and the maintenance issues hadn't been addressed. This isn't somewhere you should stay at all.

My family came from FL to visit me in Conyers and chose this hotel because of its location. I thought that sounded like a great choice, but I was wrong and feel embarrassed for putting them there. The pictures are misleading, the staff were rude, and the whole place smelled disgusting. Their first room had cockroaches, a broken microwave, and an awful moldy smell. They were apologized to and told the next room would be better. The room they moved into the following day smelled like wet dog as soon as they entered, had chipped paint and dents on the walls, and the area outside the balcony was trashed. Even the room artwork looked like it had been done by a fourth grader. This hotel needs serious work and changes.

10/10 for terrible reception. When I asked for bottled drinking water, she said people usually bring their own here. There are plenty of other options near town, so look elsewhere. This was the worst choice I made.
