It has its quirks, as you’d expect, but fits right in with the rest of Cooke City. The rooms were clean, the service was outstanding, and it’s a nice little place close to everything. I’ll stay again.

Loved our stay here! It’s a little sled town, so slow down and kick back, city people. Great for the area, but don’t expect much.

We stopped in Cooke City while traveling from Yellowstone Park. There were five of us, and we found a cabin with double beds and a pull-out twin. It was very clean, and we all had a comfortable night. Highly recommend!

The beds were pretty stiff and uncomfortable, and I woke up with body aches. Maybe a mattress topper would help. The pillows were great, though. Aside from that, we had an excellent stay and would come back. High Country Hotel was extremely clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The room smelled good, everything worked, the staff were friendly, and they let us bring our dog. The office also has a small selection of food and drinks. There’s no grocery store in town, so bring what you need or eat locally.

Cabin 2 was okay for one night, though the beds were dated and the carpet very worn. The motel and cabins lost power around 5:30am, and there wasn’t anyone to talk to. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world. It’s a convenient spot near Yellowstone’s northeast entrance, though the price stings a bit. The reservation call was effortless, and the person on the phone was a gem.
