Quality Inn Perryville I-55

The rooms and location were fine, pretty average for this price range. Our nightstand outlets didn't work and the shower floor was so slick I put down a hand towel to avoid slipping. The bigger issue was check-in with a group of nine and three rooms. One guy had a family emergency and was at the hospital with his daughter, so he couldn't come, but his name was on one room. We'd booked through Priceline, and the front desk clerk Jamison said we couldn't get into that room without him, his ID, and credit card, though one of us had already paid for it with a credit card. When we asked how to sort it out, he just said to call Priceline. He had a phone to his ear and said he'd been on hold for 15 minutes. I asked him to put it on speaker so he could hear if someone answered while still helping us, but he snapped,

I never got to use my reservation because I was admitted to the hospital and couldn't travel. Holiday Inn never heard about what happened. You can only reach an auto attendant, with no chance to speak to a live person. At least now I know where I won't stay again.

There wasn't much that stood out about the hotel. The already limited breakfast seemed to lose more items each morning. The room looked lived in. Most of it was kept clean, but the toilet had black stains and it felt like housekeeping did the bare minimum. Maybe they were doing their best and that was as clean as it could get. On checkout day we left the door tag up so we could sleep in and take our time. We heard housekeeping loudly asking in the hall whether room 2XX, though I've forgotten the number, was occupied. After a while they knocked, and I had to get out of bed to tell them we hadn't checked out yet.

The rooms and beds are comfortable, and the staff are great. It's conveniently located near St. Francis. If you're in Cape, this is easily the best choice.
