The night noise complaint we made at 1 a.m. was handled quickly. The place itself is dated, though, and so are the rooms. The driveway and parking lot need resurfacing, and the grass looked like it hadn’t been mowed in weeks. Our room window was wide open when we walked in. My daughter found a piece of fingernail in her bed. The lighting was poor, maybe to hide dirt and dust, and the bathroom fan screamed when it was on. There was a nice flagpole, but no American flag.

I was here for work, and the rooms and service were one star at best. There was construction throughout my first day. On the second day, after a 13-hour shift, I found out the elevator wasn’t working. That might have been manageable if their policy didn’t put all contractors and laborers on the fourth floor. The breakfast shouldn’t be called breakfast. There are several better hotels in the area, and I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

The bathroom was disgusting, with several kinds of hair everywhere, which makes me question how well the rooms are cleaned. They list a hot tub as an amenity, but there isn’t one. They also held a $100 deposit and still hadn’t released it after eight days, despite telling me when I booked that it would be released immediately. I wouldn’t trust them with my money again.

We were moved around because two of the three rooms we tried had problems, either broken toilets or things stuck in the carpet. The third room we settled into had a clogged shower. The late-night staff were very nice and helpful, which makes the poor room quality a shame. In the end that third room didn’t work out either, and they said they’d refund us because the rooms were so bad. But a manager had to handle it, and there was no night manager. We found another hotel and planned to speak to the manager first thing the next morning.
