We’ve been coming to The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail for more than eight years, and it used to be one of our family’s favorite winter spots. Our four nights in February 2026 were a real letdown, especially given the premium price. There was a clear drop in service and upkeep compared with past visits. The hot tubs needed serious cleaning, one had broken jets, the steam room was closed, and several gym machines didn’t work. We even found a diaper on the pool deck. At checkout, the ski valet failed to bring our skis back to the hotel, delaying us by over an hour. Valet also brought the wrong vehicles more than once, and humidifiers we’d counted on in the rooms weren’t available. The front desk staff seemed indifferent, without the warmth or professionalism we expect here. In the past, the hospitality and attention to detail helped justify the price. This time the problems felt far below the Ritz Carlton standard. As long-time guests, we’re especially disappointed. I hope the leadership restores the service and maintenance that once made the property stand out.

My stay was really good, and I had a great time overall. Still, my interaction with staff member Aleksandra Nagel was very disappointing. She spoke to me in a condescending way, as though I couldn't understand basic information, and didn't offer any real help or solution. At a hotel with the Ritz’s reputation, guests should be treated with respect and professionalism and get a genuine effort to help. I felt uncomfortable and belittled instead. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and helps reinforce staff training so future guests get the standards associated with the Ritz name.

We missed having the restaurant after it closed midway through our October week, since other restaurants aren't very close. That was our only complaint. The hotel shuttle to main Vail village and the Vail shuttle made getting around easy without a car. We enjoyed going to The Four Seasons nearby for treatments and the spa circuit, since there isn't a spa here. The two-bedroom condo was beautifully appointed, with a hot tub, pool, and bar in Lions-head. It felt more luxurious than most of the Westin timeshares we've tried. We'd stay here again and plan to return.

The rooms were clean and nice, but if yours faces the Hwy, keep the windows shut because the traffic gets really loud. There are no bedroom fans, and it sometimes felt stuffy at night. The closed bar and restaurant were a huge disappointment. I understand it was slow season, but the other hotels I visited nearby had their bars and restaurants open. Maybe this is because it's a MVC property and they're trying to save money. If it was really that quiet, why did I get a unit facing the Hwy?

The facilities were great, the location is wonderful, and the valet men were amazing, polite, and helpful. We could easily walk to Lionhead and Vail village, with plenty of places to eat and shop. A short drive got us to Frisco, Avon, Breckenridge, and other areas for shopping and dining. There are hikes, gravity coasters, and plenty of other ways to spend a day. We love the location and the suites, and may consider staying again, but we've already decided against returning in 2026. We'll try Tahoe instead, and not a Ritz this time. This was our third stay, and the previous two were perfect. We booked a three-bedroom suite for our family of five over eight months ahead, but were put on the first floor facing the next hotel's wall and above the drive down to the garage. We could angle out from the patio to see some trees and a bit of mountain, and the location made the view manageable. What wasn't manageable was being jolted awake at 7 am, then again at 8 am the next morning by truck-mounted power-washing equipment directly below our window. I confirmed it was a Ritz contractor, so it wasn't outside the hotel's control. We got no advance notice by note or call. The man who checked us in didn't seem to care that we'd been put on the first floor despite booking so early. Someone from the hotel contacted me afterward and credited one night's stay, which I appreciate. But it felt like she wanted to check a box and placate me, while the hotel still needed to get its power washing done early, instead of starting at 10 or something. I met another guest at the front desk who was complaining too. If they'd listened to us and not started again at 8 am the next morning, this review would read differently. Repeating it the day after guests complained, again without warning, says a lot about how little they care about the guest experience, whatever the Ritz Carlton advertising says. This shouldn't happen at the price of a Ritz Carlton residence.
