American Inn and Suites Dundee

We got to the room and found the garbage hadn't been taken out, even though the place looked clean at first. The people next door were partying, and I couldn't sleep, which almost never happens to me at a motel. It's not a busy place, so we got unlucky with the neighbors. I did get seven hours, though. I don't mind playing my sermons at 4 AM and letting them hear the Word of God then. Trust me, it'll be okay!

The bed was comfortable, but that was about the only good part of our stay. The room was dated and hadn't been cleaned properly. One sheet had a huge yellow stain, I hope that's all it was. There was feces on the wall behind the toilet, and the bathroom floor was filthy. The main door lock was broken in half and didn't work. In the hallway, garbage bags were overflowing and it smelled like weed. The ice machine was broken, too, and the lamp shades were ripped with the lights dangling inside. We would have stayed somewhere else if we could. At checkout I saw the hotel had won awards for 2022, 2024, and 2025, and I don't know how it went downhill so much in such a short time.

The price was reasonable, but cleanliness was a concern. The sheets were worn and stained, the pillows were old, and the mattress cover needs replacing. The bathroom also seemed poorly maintained, with broken seals.

I wanted to leave so badly, but my husband was exhausted. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The bathtub was filthy, and there was a disgusting 16-inch hole in the carpet. They had no tissues, so I had to call for toilet paper, and the remote didn't work. The TV was awful, and the shower looked like a plastic add-on from the '70s. The customer service staff didn't seem to know anything, and the furniture looked like it had been picked up from ten different curbs. I took nine pictures and posted them on YELP. Shut this hell hole down!
