The pool and comfortable gym are on the hotel’s second floor, with plenty of seating in both shade and sun. The hotel itself is more than 100 years old, but it’s comfortable and artfully updated. Its spot at the corner of Ponce de Leon and Miracle Mile is the bull’s-eye of the area. Every employee we met gave exemplary service and seemed focused on exceeding expectations. Lumberton the concierge is a gem, and the whole front office team is amazing. Nick and Michelle went above and beyond to help us resolve a problem with our previous hotel. The general manager of the hotel Fr Stephanie Kopfstedt is highly visible, talking with guests, helping the front desk during busy periods, and clearing and cleaning restaurant tables at peak times. That customer focus seems to have spread throughout the team. When in Coral Gables, this hotel is certainly worth staying at.

The artwork, sculptures, and stunning staircase made a real impression on me. The whole property is tastefully decorated, and the hotel decorations I saw during my visit were breathtakingly beautiful. It would be absolutely stunning for a wedding. The entire staff provided excellent service. Restaurants like Morton's and other fine establishments are within walking distance, and Uber and Lyft are easy to get. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Coral Gables.

I travel enough to spend well over 100 nights a year in hotels, and I’m a Marriott Ambassador. For this stay, both the front desk and Ambassador service confirmed a late checkout under Your24 on the evening I checked in. The next day I needed a replacement key so I could get into my room briefly before an important client meeting. Instead, the front desk told me I had to check out right then or pay for another night. That directly contradicted what had already been confirmed and showed a serious communication failure. The way it was delivered made it worse. The agent seemed pleased to tell me, “I’m happy to inform you that you are welcome to stay until your late checkout, but we will be charging you for the additional night.” There was no need for that tone, especially with a loyal guest relying on an arrangement the hotel had confirmed. Hospitality staff can make mistakes. What I can’t accept is someone doubling down on one, seeming satisfied about it, and showing contempt toward a guest. This was about the behavior, not just a policy mix-up. I’ve stayed at Marriott hotels around the world and never had an experience like this. I won’t return. Being the area’s only full-service Marriott shouldn’t excuse poor service or this treatment of guests. If it’s tolerated, I wouldn’t assume the hotel’s future success.

The Miracle Mile Executive Suite felt quite cramped for its high price. I also rented space at Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables to film a professional interview, and the Rotunda looked like it would be a beautiful backdrop. The architecture is striking, and Hotel Colonnade seems well suited to general events. The booking conversation left out how disruptive the space would be. I was told it wouldn’t be fully private, but that it could be “flexible” enough for our needs. During our reserved hours, noise from the adjacent restaurant was constant, and hotel staff came into the clearly marked filming area several times for unrelated work, including measuring the fountain in the middle of the space. We had to stop recording more than once. The staff were polite, moved some furniture, and put up extra signs, which I appreciated. Still, courtesy wasn’t the problem. The actual conditions were quite different from what had been described, and the noise and activity made the rental unusable for parts of a professional shoot. If you’re considering this space for interviews or anything needing controlled sound, ask detailed questions about restaurant noise, hotel operations, and staff access during your booking. Based on my experience, it isn’t reliably suited to that kind of work.
