Holiday Inn Coralville Iowa City by IHG

We had 43 family members at our 50th wedding anniversary, and the Isaac Room was just right for the celebration. The food came out promptly and was really good, and the audiovisual equipment was excellent. Guests had lots of positive things to say. The staff were professional, easy to work with, and very accommodating, and the event went off without any major problems. The price compared well with the other places we looked at. Big thanks to everyone who helped make our anniversary so wonderful.

After a long nine-hour drive from Mississippi, staying at the Holiday Inn was wonderful. Gary was the friendliest person I’ve ever met and took care of everything for me and the 20 other guests. He was attentive to all our needs. Love you, Gary, at 1220 1st Avenue (Holiday Inn).

The attached restaurant is great, and I’ve stayed here three times in the past year. The rooms are nice and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. The layout is odd, though. Check-in is on the second floor, and there’s no elevator down to the first, so we had to carry our suitcases down a narrow flight of stairs. That didn’t feel safe. There is a first-floor entrance around back, but the person who checked us in didn’t mention it. The ice machine on the second floor was broken, and there wasn’t one on the first, so we went up to the third floor for ice. I’d stay again if I’m in the area, but I’d ask for any floor except the first.

The room rate was cheap, and the hotel was clean, but there wasn’t breakfast. I also found the layout confusing and couldn’t find my room at first since the lobby is on the second floor. The thermostat in the room didn’t work, and the unit’s own controls weren’t calibrated right, so it swung between too hot and too cold all night. The shower drain was clogged too.
