The grounds were quiet and scenic, with a lovely Montana mountain feel, and parking right off the main road was easy. Our clean, cozy log cabin was nicely decorated and had what we needed for a restful break. Check-in was smooth, and the staff made us feel welcome. There’s a continental breakfast too, which was a nice touch. The location is just minutes from the West Glacier National Park entrance. We’ll be back, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Glacier.

The woman who checked us in was very sweet, and she’s the reason I gave the service more than one star. We booked a cabin but were put in a room off the main house instead. It didn’t feel log-like at all, and the stay was disappointing. The bed was terrible, the decor tacky, and there were no blackout curtains, only metal blinds. I found a spider in the shower in the morning, probably coming in through the flimsy door. Breakfast runs 7:30-10, but we were gone by 6, so I can’t comment on it. The advertised photo didn’t match our stay at all.

The only option we could find in this tourist area was to stay, and we felt ripped off. We expected “a charming top quality deluxe real log chalet” as the website describes, but were assigned a dirty, uncomfortable, poorly kept, ugly, and unsafe room at the same rate as the “charming” cabins. Check the photos to see why we hated every minute of it. The mini blinds on every window were filthy, barely worked, and didn’t offer real privacy. The lock was useless: even when locked, the door opened if you pulled it, and there was no deadbolt. The bug killer smell never went away, despite leaving the windows open whenever we weren’t in the room, and there were still live bugs. Dead bugs lined the baseboards. Dust covered the lamp, thermostat, TV, window tracks, and other surfaces, one lampshade had clear water damage, and a strange floor-level window was full of dead spiders and bugs. Breakfast was pathetic, just granola bars, cereal, juice, milk, and coffee so bad it seemed to have sat in the carafe overnight. I tried making coffee in our room and found mold in the carafe. The cable TV stopped working on the second night of our two-night stay. There was a nasty, half-used bottle of Dial soap by the bathroom sink. The bed sank a foot when anyone sat down or got in. The tip jar on the table had to be a joke. If you stay here, make sure you reserve an ACTUAL CABIN rather than whatever they call the room we got. Expect filth and bugs, and don’t expect much from breakfast.

The location worked perfectly for West Glacier park, rafting, and hiking. The cabin was great, with lots of little extras. They loan bear spray and water rafting towels, and can provide a small bag of ice for your room if needed.

A fun little find, my own log cabin. It was quiet and in a great location, and I liked the setup enough to wish I’d stayed more than one night. The hard water clogged up the shower head and there was no A/C, but it was still worth five stars.
