Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corbin, an IHG Hotel

Shane at the front desk was so helpful with my disabled brother-in-law, arranging an accessible room beside the elevator. He even brought our DoorDash order up to the room. He was fabulous and went far beyond what I'd expect. If I could give this hotel, especially Shane, six stars, I would. I strongly recommend this Holiday Inn.

The location was great, and the staff were friendly, but the rooms need updating. We had two rooms, and the old carpet gave them a smell. The beds were just average.

The clerk smirked while I explained what happened, and seemed not to care. I told her there was nothing funny about it, and that listening to customers is part of being in the hospitality business. In the bathroom, the tub drained so slowly that we stood in two inches of water during showers. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open. It swung shut and latched by itself, which could be a safety hazard at night if someone is disoriented and walks into it. Outdoor security lighting was almost nonexistent. On 5/2/26, I read the hotel's response and thought it was ridiculous. We were showering in the morning and leaving, so moving us to another room would mean packing after getting dressed and hoping that room didn't have a drain problem too. The drain issue had been reported more than 13 years ago and again more recently. If staff reported room conditions before assigning guests, maybe maintenance could get ahead of problems like the bathroom door. We had to prop a bag against it to keep it open. Stop making excuses.

After hours on the road, we just wanted to rest, but the king room was dirty. There were white stains on the couch and the bed runner, a long black hair in the shower and another on the floor, and the sink wouldn't drain. The shower faucet wasn't even attached, and the tub's soap spot looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I know renovations were underway, but that doesn't excuse the condition of the room. At checkout my husband asked for a manager, and the desk worker said he was the front desk manager. After hearing us out, he said he'd need to speak to the general manager. We loaded the truck and came back, and they offered to take off about $30. What a joke. We will never stay at a Holiday Inn again. Don't waste your money.
