Lodging at the Gaffer Inn

Market Street is one of our favorite streets anywhere, with great cafés, independent shops, restaurants, and a lovely feel from morning until night. The Gaffer Inn sits right there, so you can step straight into the heart of town. Its location is unbeatable. We've stayed regularly for five years, and it has become our go-to whenever we're in town. The rooms are spacious, clean, pleasant, and comfortable, with good beds and everything needed for a relaxing visit. The price feels like great value. Booking is easy, communication is friendly and prompt, and the team are welcoming and quick to sort out any small request. We always look forward to returning and would happily recommend it.

We only stayed one night, but the room was big and comfortable, with a lounge area and a large three-seat sofa. The beds were very good and the room was clean. It had air conditioning, a decent-sized TV, a fridge, and a small kitchen area for making coffee, plus a microwave. There's an ensuite with a large shower but no bathtub. Public parking is behind the lodge, with rear stairs leading up to the rooms. All four rooms are on the first floor, and there's no lift.

Corning is lovely, and we enjoyed the museum, town, shops, people, and burger place downstairs. Staying in town and off the highway is always more fun. The Gaffer Inn was easy to book, pleasant, and had a comfortable room and bed. There are always things that could be improved, but nothing that put us off. If we get the chance, we'll definitely stay again.

The restaurant downstairs served amazing food, and our room was wonderful, bigger than some apartments. Parking was a little inconvenient, though not enough to stop us coming back. The room and service deserve even more stars if that were possible. We returned for our anniversary and were just as impressed. The staff are friendly, and the rooms clean and comfortable. This will probably be our pick for weekend getaways.
