Welcome Inn

The room sheets didn't fit the bed, and the comforters were old, ugly, and had burn holes. The same mop they use in the room is used on the sidewalk, too. If you ask for an extra sheet or ask them to clean, don't expect help; the staff won't clean the room when asked. They even give staff keys to enter, so you may not have privacy, and it feels like they can come in and take inventory of your things. And then there are the cockroaches and earwigs. If you don't mind sharing your space with nature and hosting Mr. and Mrs. Roach and their 500 precious little new additions, this is the place. If you're on probation or parole, it may be perfect for those cop-criminal reunions.

I was out most of the day after checking in, then came back late and started settling into the room. Roaches were coming from the television and had gotten into the food I'd just put on the counter. The staff told me I'd brought them. I'd stay away unless you want to take roaches home with you.

They took my family and me in when we became homeless, and we've been here for two months while God helps us move toward a house. I'm grateful to the staff and to this building for being here when we needed it most. God has been providing for us. The rooms we've had have been great: good beds, free Wi-Fi, plenty of space, hot water, fluffy towels, a wavy mirror and mini-fridge combination, and AC that works well. The fridge has kept our food cold. It can be quiet, though sometimes you hear people making noise. There are some locals outside, but they're harmless. Please treat the staff with respect and don't judge anyone; you never know what someone is going through. You can have a home one moment and be homeless the next. Thank you for hosting us.

The woman at the desk was polite and helpful, and I was able to check in early. I did my laundry using the on-site machine. Since my car window wouldn't go up, the man said he'd keep an eye on my car, which helped me relax. There were no people outside except families. I enjoyed the visit so much that I'm booking another night in a suite across the way and upgrading to a better room. Hopefully I can switch without checking out and waiting until 2. I'll post soon about how changing rooms went.
