Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa

We booked at the last minute and they were able to take us right away. The room was much bigger than we'd expected and very clean. Staff were pleasant, answered our questions, and explained which amenities came with the stay. We could see the bay from our balcony even though we had a standard room. The parking garage was especially helpful on rainy days, since we didn't get soaked. The food options on site were much better than we expected for a resort hotel. We'd definitely return.

The team made the hotel feel clean and comfortable, with a real family atmosphere. Everyone we dealt with, from the doorman to Jose at the restaurant, room service, and the conference staff, seemed happy to be there. They were welcoming, helpful, and ready to do what they could. Someone deserves credit for putting this crew together. Well done!

The location is lovely, and the staff handled our needs wonderfully. They were understanding when we chose to leave two days early. The room, though, wasn't worth the price. It looked worn, the mattress was just okay, and the refrigerator was less than three feet from one side of the bed, making a noise like someone snoring. The property itself also felt like an old apartment complex, beige and bland.

We've been returning for over 25 years, and another two-night visit reminded me why I like coming back. The bay and downtown skyline views from this beautiful part of San Diego never get old. The new chef is doing a great job, and ALBACA was a food highlight. It'd be worth driving there even if you weren't staying at the hotel, which is unusual for a hotel restaurant. Staff were warm and attentive, and our dinner server had been working there for 33 years.
