Bluff's Landing Lodge

I’m very disappointed and upset with how this went, especially after traveling from Reno, Nevada. The building and rooms are old, dingy, and smelled moldy and damp. The online pictures made the place look newer and nicer than it is, and even the surrounding area looked misleading online. I had booked through March 10, but there’s no way I’m spending three more nights here. I believe I should be able to leave Saturday morning and get a full refund for the unused nights. I told the woman I wanted a full refund so I could book somewhere else, but she wouldn’t agree. I’ll contact booking.com. I’ve used them for over ten years without issues, and the rooms and hotels have always looked like their listings. Whatever happened to pleasing the customer? This place feels unhealthy, and the moldy smell is just gross. 😒😡 The room had plenty of problems: an empty Kleenex box in the bathroom, a leaking sink faucet that soaked the counter, no microwave, and an old, stained little Mr Coffee maker. There was only one hanger. Two pillows smelled dirty and damp, like a dirty sponge left to dry. The wall mounted hand towel holder fell off when I took a towel. The mattress sagged, and the old fan by the window was loud. I didn’t know it was self check-in, and I hadn’t received the ground-floor room I requested. I’m over 65 and can’t carry a suitcase up all those stairs, so I called and discussed it with a woman until she finally changed my room. That meant getting double beds instead of the king deluxe I had booked. She initially wanted to charge extra for the room change, but I said no, since not getting the requested first-floor room was their mistake. The people upstairs were noisy, with a two-year-old running around for hours. I had just traveled and been awake since 2am, and needed sleep. I called to complain three times. They said the occupants would be moved, but the racket carried on until about 9pm.
