ValStay Inn and Suites

A good deal for what you get. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It could be a really nice place if the owners put some money into updates and advertising. We’ll be back since we have friends nearby, and as I said, it was a good price.

My brother and I stayed for five months, paying $315 a week for a room for two. The family owned the place and lived in the same hotel, and the staff were really friendly. Cleaning happened every day or two. It wasn’t a great building because of the previous owner, but mostly it was okay, with just a couple of minor issues. There was a free pool area with BBQ pits, a free regular gym, free WiFi and cable, plus a bar area with a pool table. Free beer was available on three days, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I left before 2017, so maybe it’s been remodeled since then.

Absolutely disgusting. There were roaches in the bed, the carpet was filthy, and the ceilings were caving in with water damage everywhere. Trash overflowed in the hallways for days. Nobody replaced the towels, and they were rude when I asked for more. My room didn’t even have a fire alarm, and lights and exit signs were hanging from the ceiling. There were crack heads working at the front. Don’t ever go here.

The room was fairly clean and the mattress was firm enough, but the mildew smell was hard to ignore. The place seems in rough shape, with ceiling panels hanging in the halls. Maybe the damage is from storms, but nobody seems in a rush to fix it. The TV was awful. My vehicle left me stranded in the rain, so at least things could have been worse.
