Aloft by Marriott Corpus Christi

In 35 years of staying at Marriott properties, this was the worst room and experience I've had, even though I'm lifetime Gold. The bathroom floor had a loose tile that rocked underfoot, and the shower was full of hair. The coffee was poor, too. This is the lowest rating I've ever given a Marriott. The desk clerk this morning seemed much more interested in her phone.

We had a great time here and loved what the hotel had to offer. The pool was beautiful, the rooms were nice, and the bar was clean and lovely. Rob, the bartender, was so kind and attentive, and made our drinks perfectly. The staff were amazing. We definitely recommend it!

Our team was treated kindly by the accommodating staff, and we enjoyed the stay. A few things in the room weren't right: the AC made odd, rushing-water noises, the closet's sliding glass door was jammed and wouldn't open or close properly, the toilet didn't flush properly, and the shower leaked across the floor. Even with those problems, we enjoyed our visit.

I often go to the bar across the street, and one night I tried to get a room here. Nobody was at the desk or anywhere I could see, so I waited about five minutes. Then my friend, who was waiting in the car, called to say the manager, I assume, and a maintenance man were yelling at her to leave. As I was walking out, a woman started shouting that she'd call the police for trespassing. I was trying to book a room, so I don't see how we could be trespassing. Maybe she was just having a bad night. We went to the Spark by barnes & Noble instead, and it was great.
