Extended Stay America Suites - St Paul - Woodbury

The couch had ramen noodles all over the mattress and a sock underneath when I pulled it out for my kid. I ended up buying cleaning supplies to deal with what housekeeping had left behind. There were handprints and water marks running down doors, pubic hair in the shower, and heavy limescale. Some of it could come off with steel wool. Nothing seemed sanitized or properly cleaned. The front desk was no help and never answered, and the whole place smelled like pot. It felt full of germs and shady characters, so I wouldn't bring children here. I thought I was getting a bargain because I'd stayed at other well-kept places, but this was pure laziness and a health risk.

Rebecca at the front desk was always pleasant and made sure I had what I needed. It was handy having kitchen items available to use, too. My stay was good, with very few complaints.

It’s a calm, steady place to stay, which could matter a lot if you’re getting away from a stressful or difficult situation. It feels more like a home base than a vacation hotel. Don’t expect luxury, though.

If it hadn’t been 9:30pm and I hadn’t had the kids with me, I would’ve left. The room was in rough shape, with chipped paint, dents in the walls, old tarnished or rusty lamp and bathroom mirror, and a damp, odd smell. The floor and walls were dirty, and moisture came up through the bathroom floor when we walked on it. I reported that to the front desk and was told someone would assess it, but nobody came. At checkout I mentioned the room’s condition again, and they said they’d tell “management.” The lobby and hallway floors were dirty too, so the whole place felt unclean. I can’t understand how the parking lot was full and the hotel occupied. Worst hotel experience I’ve had, and I’m not picky. Definitely “0” out of 5 stars.
