Holiday Inn Express Corpus Christi – Beachfront by IHG

The free breakfast was a highlight, with tasty food and plenty of choices. Our rooms were very clean, and the staff welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived. We had a fantastic, comfortable and stress-free stay, and would definitely recommend the hotel.

Breakfast still comes with styrofoam plates and single-use plastic cups and utensils. We use them for 15 minutes, then they pollute the earth and water for centuries and sit in landfills for hundreds of years. I would love Holiday Inn to switch to real dishes and silverware, or at least compostable serving items. They're available. That was my big complaint about an otherwise excellent stay: friendly, helpful staff, and newly renovated, clean rooms with nice touches like a night light, comfortable furniture, microwave and fridge. I also liked the refillable soap and shampoo bottles on the walls instead of little ones. The hotel was excellent in almost every other way.

On our second stay at the Holiday Inn Express by the beach, the room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed. The staff were welcoming, and they had shampoo and toiletries ready when I'd forgotten mine, which was a lifesaver. The location is excellent and convenient. I really enjoyed being there and would happily come back. Highly recommend it.

Check-in and checkout were perfect, and buying snacks from the snack area was easy. The location was perfection, and the price was very fair. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, no carpet, a working fridge and microwave, a fine shower, and air conditioning that worked great, almost too cold, which was fine with me. The toilet had some flushing issues but was workable. The strongest issue was the deodorizing fragrance when I walked in. It didn't smell bad, but it was so strong it nearly put me off and gave me a headache. It lingered and wouldn't go away, though I was able to sleep. I'm not sure all rooms smell that way, but mine did. I couldn't get live TV and its various channels to work, but Netflix and YouTube were fine. I didn't ask for help, so it might have been user error. The included breakfast looked great, though I didn't eat there.
