Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corpus Christi NW - Calallen by IHG

A lot of business travelers stay here. It's clean and simple, with a clean bed and vacuumed floor, and the person at the desk was friendly and explained what to expect and the quickest way to my room. I'd stay again for business. I paid $160 including taxes and fees, or $135 before them, and I'm an IHG member. The thing I didn't like was the first-floor room's curtains: the sheer ones opened and closed, but the thicker ones were just decoration, so I couldn't close them.

This is our regular hotel for work or leisure around Corpus Christi and Robstown. It's near Hwy 77 and I-37 in the heart of Calallen/ Robstown, a few minutes' drive from downtown Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Airport. A super Walmart is across the highway, Bill Miller's BBQ is next door, and there are plenty of familiar chain restaurants down the street. It's comfortable and quiet, away from the bustle but still a short drive from everywhere, and the staff are great. Perla at the front desk and General manager Thomas Rodriguez are awesome. Say hello, and have a great stay.

The room was basic but clean, and I liked the touchscreen bathroom mirror. Breakfast was included, with a clean, well-stocked bar, and there's a small gym on the first floor. The Spanish guy at the desk on Sunday night 9/14/25 was polite and friendly, and got us a much-appreciated discount since we were walk-ins. I was on the first floor, and the people above me stomped around loudly at 3 am. That was really annoying.

I need to update this because the refund I expected never came through. I'm not sure whether that's on booking.com or the hotel, since each says the other has to decide. We booked through a third party, which I don't recommend, and ran into issues. Manny,Perla and Thomas were kind and helped me work on resolving it. I appreciate them.
