La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Corsicana

We’d booked two nights, but after this one we’re leaving in the morning and trying somewhere else. The room looked clean, and the bedding was clean too, but a moldy smell is keeping me from sleeping. We were exhausted after a long drive and didn’t have it in us to ask for another room. Very disappointing after staying at several really nice La Quintas around the country.

The beds were hard, and the pillows were so old they had lumps. The elevator was broken, and the hotel smelled strongly of mold. They badly need an inspection for mold. I wouldn’t spend my money staying here.

The only thing going for this place was being fairly close to the baseball park. We came for a tournament, and my son and some teammates came out of the pool crying because there was way too much chlorine. Please look into that so nobody else gets seriously hurt. The hotel needs renovations. The room smelled old and moldy, the heat gave off an animal pee smell when I accidentally switched it on, there were roaches in the sink, and the bottom of the tub was dirty. Breakfast was subpar. Check-in didn’t come with much useful information beyond the Wi-Fi password. We weren’t told that the second-floor elevator buttons didn’t work, that housekeeping doesn’t service rooms every day, or when breakfast started and ended. I had to take out our own trash and bring it to the dumpster.

There were a few small hassles during my stay. The room was hot when I arrived, though the AC cooled it down in about 15 minutes. Next morning the coffee machine was empty, and at breakfast the pancake machine had run out of batter. Both times nobody was at the desk, so I had to ring the bell at the end of the counter. The same thing happened when I arrived and waited a few minutes before noticing the bell. Nothing major, just several inconveniences.
