Comfort Suites Corvallis

It’s cold outside, in the 30s, but we’ve been enjoying the indoor pool and hot tub. We came to see our kiddo at college for her birthday, and the school is only 9 minutes away. Our room is clean and everyone’s been nice. There are handy quick drink and snack options at the front desk, and the hotel is just off the main road, close to food, shops, and a pharmacy.

I had a lot of questions about Corvallis, places to eat, and directions, and Owen at the front desk took time to give me helpful details with real enthusiasm. He and the rest of the staff were friendly from the start and went out of their way to make things enjoyable. That customer service was the standout for me. I was in town for an OSU open house on 11/14, and I usually stay at fancy hotels, so I didn’t expect much. It turned out to be a very pleasant stay. I’ll absolutely come back next time I’m in Corvallis.

The only thing I’d change is the parking lot lighting. It felt a bit unsafe at times. On two different visits, I asked for a quiet room, and the desk staff put me in a perfect spot on the top floor, away from other guests.

My wife, daughter, and granddaughter stayed in a room with two queen beds. The hotel put two pre-authorizations of $181 on my card for a one-night stay, and it took three days and repeated follow-up from me before management explained that they routinely double the authorization. I stay at many hotels every year, including other Comfort Suites, and this has never happened to me. I don’t think it’s right to tie up a customer’s money without telling them at check-in that it’s a security hold, then promptly releasing it at checkout. The two $181 holds stayed on my card for three days. After I kept pursuing it, one was effectively removed through a $181 credit.
