The breakfast buffet was a highlight, especially the make-your-own waffles, so get up for it if you stay. The room was spotless, with clean floors, bathroom and bedding, no smell and no clutter. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was good, and it stayed quiet at night. There was a brief stretch without hot water, which I understood, and construction was going on, though neither derailed the stay. I do think the price should reflect the construction. The owners were welcoming, check-in was easy, and they answered our questions. The room had what we needed, parking was simple, and the location made it easy to get around Costa Mesa. Good value overall. I’d come back and recommend it.

The staff were friendly, and the location and price were decent. Still, the room was missing a mini fridge at first, and outside noise from construction was extremely loud all day, including furniture being dropped into dumpsters from an upper floor. The old, basic TV didn’t really work or do much for us.

We chose this hotel for its pool and hot tub, which the teenagers in our group were looking forward to. I’d booked six rooms two months ahead, but both facilities were under construction when we arrived. I asked the manager for a discount and got no reply, and a message went unanswered too. They should have let us know before we got there.

The pool was being torn up when we checked in, and that outage wasn’t mentioned on the website. When I asked to cancel because it couldn’t be used, the counter staff, who were babysitting a child in the lobby, offered no help. We left and stayed at the e best western instead, which was much better. Spend your money elsewhere.
