Pines Inn & Suites

We still like the Pines Inn & Suites, and the price felt fair for what we got. It’s close to downtown and local activities, with a welcoming feel and good overall cleanliness. I’d give it 4.6 out of 5 using my own six-part scorecard, which looks at transport access, parking, check-in and check-out, shared spaces and Wi-Fi, service, and room quality and amenities. I travel mostly for pleasure and personal needs, and I’m no professional reviewer, but I’ve stayed at plenty of places in and outside the country. This was our second visit, during the weekend of September 15th, 2025, after we’d enjoyed Clarkdale and Cottonwood before. The two stays were very different, and I had expected better this time, while recognizing management may not control everything. Someone spent the full day and late into the night working on a vehicle on jack stands in the parking lot, taking up three spaces. In Suite 106 the floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in ages, and people upstairs seemed to jump around until well after midnight, so it wasn’t a restful night. My category scores were 4.5 for transport access, 3.5 for parking, 4.5 for check-in and check-out, 4.0 for atmosphere, public areas, office access and Wi-Fi, 4.0 for customer service, and 3.5 for the room, bed, cleanliness, value and amenities.

If you’re after somewhere peaceful, this could be the spot. It’s a small, charming hotel, quiet and clean, with nice grounds and a room that was well kept. We could park right by the door, and most things were close by. It also had that old-fashioned small-town hotel feel, like stepping back to how places used to be.

We’ve never stayed anywhere this spotless. Everything felt just right, and it made me wonder why other properties don’t keep up the same standard. We’re looking forward to coming back.

We’ll be back. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff, who felt like a family, were warm, friendly, and ready to help. The facility went beyond what we expected, and it’s handy for Sedona, Old Town Cottonwood, and Jerome.
