The pool was really nice, and everything felt clean and quiet. It's less than ten minutes from Henry Doorly and Lauritzen, so getting around was convenient. Hy Vee and Casey's are just down the road, and being right beside the police station made it feel especially safe.

I hardly slept and couldn't wait to leave. My husband and I only needed somewhere to break up a long drive for about seven hours, with maybe a shower, so we weren't expecting luxury. Still, this was filthy and easily one of the worst places I've stayed, including plenty of cheap motels and hostels. Neither of us wanted to step into the shower. We booked a 1 king room but were given a 2 queen room with no AC and a broken, busted window screen. That meant noise, bugs, and a safety concern, and the curtains didn't close all the way, so light came in too. It was especially frustrating because I'd called twice, hours before arrival, just to confirm the reservation and give our ETA so they knew we were coming and wouldn't lose our booking. The room was even nastier than the pictures suggest. A napkin covered the peephole, presumably because it was broken. The sink and toilet weren't secured and had a lot of gunk around them. There were blood stains, and the place was generally filthy and inadequate. On top of all that, the front desk worker was unnecessarily rude on both phone calls and to my husband when he checked us in that night. I would never come back. I feel I need to warn people because the cleanliness and safety issues could disturb even a low-maintenance traveler. Spend your money elsewhere.

The shower had good pressure and got nice and hot, and the air conditioner worked well. Beds were decent for sleeping, though they made a lot of noise whenever we moved. The room felt dated, and the maids made the bed sloppily. I also found a roach in the bathroom, which was disgusting. The phone had loads of static when I called the desk, and looked like it was from around 1990 or even 1987. There aren't vending machines, though there is an ice machine in the hallway. I didn't try breakfast. Parking was plentiful, with Hyvee, Menards, and Casey’s nearby.

I'm working on renovations to the rooms and amenities. The rooms are a good size and kept very clean, and things are going to be updated so guests can keep having a relaxing, problem-free stay.
