Best Western Crossroads Of The Bluffs

A little dated, but that's my only complaint, so I'd count this as a big win. The staff were friendly, our room was clean, and breakfast was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised and will book here again.

The price was moderate, check-in was quick and easy, and they gave us bottled water when we arrived. Our room was toward the back, where we heard the fans on 18 wheelers parked behind the building all night. It made for a rough sleep. The room seemed a bit old and the bed was average. All the lamps and the clock were unplugged when we got there, and I managed to plug one in. I got a cup of coffee in the morning, but found something in it after opening the plastic. The tissues were soft on my nose, though the toilet paper was rough. They do serve a hot breakfast.

I paid extra for a Jacuzzi room for five nights. On the first night, I couldn't get hot water. The front desk woman said the maintenance man wouldn't be in until morning, and I told her I would be at work and they could enter the room to fix it. When I got back from work, I called before using the Jacuzzi. She said to let the hot water run for 5 to 10 minutes before it warmed up. I turned it on, and hot water came out 20 seconds later. On my third night, I filled the Jacuzzi without trouble, but 20 minutes later, when I tried to add hot water, nothing came from the faucet. The front desk woman came to my room and tried to fix it. She called Mohammed, the manager, on the cordless phone. He told her he would refund me and call the next day. When I got back from work that night, there was a hole cut in the Jacuzzi's side panel and the whole room smelled like sewer water, though the Jacuzzi worked. I checked out after five days, and the pending $560 for my stay was back in my bank account. A week later, the $560 started showing as pending again. For the past 10 days, I've tried every day to reach the manager. I've left my phone number with every signed desk staff member in the morning and asked her to return my call. I also filed a customer relations complaint explaining the same issue. They replied that the hot tub damage was external and caused by the customer, which is a complete lie. If that had been true, they wouldn't have returned my $50 incidentals. I'd give this hotel -10 stars if that were an option.

This was our second time at the Crossroads, and we had a comfortable, well-equipped pet-friendly room. The beds and pillows were quite nice. We'll plan another stay on our annual trip to the Midwest.
