Quality Inn Covington Downtown

The free breakfast was better than I expected, with a good range of choices, and everyone on staff was welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived. The hotel has fairly new owners, and the team asked guests to be patient while they make upgrades and other positive changes, which I appreciated. The location is just okay, though there are food spots, shops, and hiking trails nearby. I had a great stay and will come back next time I’m passing through.

The food was in terrible shape: stale breakfast, sour waffle batter, bitter old butter packets, and jelly leaking out of its packets. The toilet was dirty too, and the whole place smelled like a dungeon as soon as we entered the office. Our room was smelly, dirty, and run-down. We tried to leave on the second day, but they wouldn’t refund the prepaid night, so we left anyway. I’ve stayed at plenty of other Quality Inns, but this one gives the chain a bad name. I won’t risk staying at another one. It was the worst place we’ve visited, and I don’t understand how the Health Department lets it operate.

The bathroom was tiny but decent, and the heat and A/C were okay. I spotted a huge spiderweb by the mirror over the sink when I first came in. Breakfast needs more variety: sausage, smoked sausage, pancakes, cheese eggs, something beyond eggs, cereal, milk, or fruit. Next time, step it up!

We’ll definitely come back when we visit family again. The staff were professional and polite, the place was very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The Wi-Fi and TV were good quality too. Thanks for such a great stay.
