Courtyard Pittsburgh North/Cranberry Woods

Though I was there just one night, I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Check-in was quick and painless, the room was clean and well kept, and the king bed was comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets available. At checkout the next morning, I grabbed a breakfast burrito for the road, and it was fantastic.

The bed was hard enough to affect my sleep, which was disappointing because that comfort matters so much in a hotel. I hope they can address it for future guests. The room itself was beautifully designed and had a pleasant feel, with thoughtful décor details, and the staff were very friendly. Everything else about the stay was lovely, so the bed was the one letdown.

We only wish we’d had more time at the hotel during our volleyball tournament visit a couple of months ago. It was fabulous, with the clean, convenient stay and friendly service we’ve come to expect from Marriott. Hopefully we’ll be back to visit next year. Sorry this review is late, and thanks!

After at least ten stays since it opened, this used to be one of my favorite Courtyards. I’m not sure whether ownership has changed or the current owners have stopped maintaining it, but either way the property needs attention and it reflects poorly on Marriott. I was assigned a room described by staff and signage as “handicapped.” Accessible rooms should be available for travelers who need those features, but I was told nothing else was open. On my second night, bedroom wallpaper peeled off and landed on the bed, something I’d expect only in a very old house. John at the front desk and John from maintenance deserve credit: maintenance arrived within five minutes and made a temporary repair. The inside of the windows had a black film; I left a paper towel with the dust and dirt and a note asking the owners to have them cleaned. I hope Marriott gets through to the operators that they need to invest in upkeep or leave the business.
