Residence Inn Cranberry Township Pittsburgh by Marriott

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, but they feel long overdue for updates. The showerhead was loose and shifted when I adjusted it, and the tub faucet moved when I turned on the water. Renovating would really improve the place. I still had a good stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Cranberry Pittsburgh. The staff were welcoming, fresh coffee was always available, and on some days there were cookies, too. Breakfast was free, WiFi worked well, and parking was plentiful. The indoor pool and hot tub were great, the small gym was clean and well kept, and there was a pleasant outdoor spot with room for a small bonfire. Service and amenities were good overall.

We stayed at this Residence Inn while looking for a house to buy, and the helpful, friendly staff made us miss living there. Jen suggested parks for us to visit, JoAnn was lovely to us and our dog, and Doris, the breakfast host, treated us like family. It’s a clean, well-run inn.

Breakfast was the best part, with a decent range of choices and allergy-friendly options. The rooms were okay, but the sleeper sofa was broken and wouldn’t support the mattress. There was water damage in several parts of the building and a humidity problem.

Update: I spoke with the manager, who was very nice and understanding. The place is apparently getting renovation, and he refunded me. At least there’s that. Getting to the hotel was confusing because there was no regular visible entrance. Once inside, it felt musty, old, and rancid, like it needed renovating back in Bush Sr.’s term. My first room had a bed with such a deep dip I could skateboard in it. The shower was stuck halfway between bath and shower, with water coming from both ends. I asked for another room. The AC was set to 59, and the open door to the in-room boiler room had a bucket underneath to catch condenser drips. The shower floor was dirty and the walls were cracked. I can’t understand how this place is open. Stay far away.
