The front desk employee was professional, and that was easily the one bright spot. The room looked like it had only been cleaned in a hurry. The hotel’s claim of being remodeled seems to mean just that the bed comforter has been updated since the ’80s. Carpet is badly stained throughout, the supports holding up the second floor are crumbling, and an apparent plumbing problem from the room above has left the ceiling and wall falling apart without repair. Both chairs in our room were broken. I’m completely baffled how this could pass a building inspection.

The staff were friendly, and the windows made the room much brighter. Pop and snacks were available, too. But $87 felt about $17 too high for a room I’d put at $60-65. The hot water was barely lukewarm, the pillows were pretty sad, and several bathroom tiles were cracked. The lighting was so poor I couldn’t really inspect the unhealthy-looking tub. And there was a smashed bug on the ceiling.

We were in town for the GLVC swimming Championship meet, and there weren’t any other rooms available, but I won’t stay here again. The room had a fridge door that fell off, and the water ran brown for a few minutes when we turned it on. Worst of all, I found a drug pipe in the toilet paper roll. I told the owner, who said he’d been in the hotel business for 30 years and had never heard of that, then walked away. The outside looked run down, some supports were crumbling, and one stairwell was blocked off as unsafe. My wife and I got a laugh out of the fridge, at least.

We had paid around $700 and owed just one night when it was time to leave. We’d stayed a little over a week, nearly two, kept the room clean, and were respectful. I’d told the desk we needed a late checkout, and the clerk said that was fine as long as we were gone by 2. While we were packing, the housekeeper knocked and told me to open the door when I wasn’t dressed. My boyfriend pulled up with the car, and I heard her speak very nastily to him. They acted like we weren’t going to pay. As we started to leave, police swarmed us in the parking lot. The officer said they were checking that we would pay, but it turned into harassment and more. They seemed disappointed when they searched my car and took it. I wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone, stay as far away as possible. Cops calling, conceiving, probably doing some of their own dirt. Karma is real. We’re good people. Mindy on the night shift was the kindest and most helpful person we met there.

I was so angry at the difference between the website photos and the actual condition that I canceled my reservation from the parking lot without getting out of my car. The walls and ceiling were literally falling apart, and it looked unsafe inside. False advertising at its greatest. Don’t waste your time, book somewhere else.
