Oceanfront Lodge

We had a balcony looking out toward the ocean, and the lodge was clean, well located, and had everything we needed. Everyone was nice and accommodating, and the restaurant food was yummy. We'll stay again. We didn't use the pool, hot tub, or workout room.

The room itself was great, but I'm still trying to get my deposit back 23 days after checking out. The website said $25, then they asked for $100 at arrival, which was fine. I've called many times and been told it wasn't charged, just pending until the manager or someone releases it. I left the manager a voicemail and never heard back. This is ridiculous.

The location is stunning, with lovely scenery right there and a quick walk to the lighthouse. It's an older, plain hotel, but clean and has the basics covered. Our room had a fridge and microwave, the hotel and restaurant staff were kind, and dogs are welcome. The sauna was a nice extra on the cold, rainy Christmas Eve we stayed.

The view was the main plus, along with a decent bed and pillows. The property needs a lot of repair and updating, though. There were stains in the lobby coming from a vent where there seemed to be an obvious water leak. Our floor was dirty, like it hadn't been swept, and the shower curtain had caulking all over it from rushed repairs. The balcony curtain was torn, and painters tape was still on the sill.
