Baymont by Wyndham Crestview

The price was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms need serious attention. In room 212, the bathroom light worked only about half the time, and there was mold in the freezer section of the fridge. The dresser drawers smelled of smoke even though we were supposed to be in a non-smoking room. We found two stains on the sheets, and the shower curtain had a rust stain and another mark. The front desk also forgot that three of us were staying in the room with two queen beds and hadn't prepared it for three people. Meanwhile, people in three rooms were partying and smoking in non-smoking rooms, and the front desk woman watched without saying anything. The location wasn't great either.

The lobby looked clean and smelled nice when I walked in, so I expected the hotel to be decent. But the room only seemed okay until it got dark, when roaches started coming out everywhere. The hotel wouldn't even acknowledge my complaint, and we left by 2:30 a.m. The man at the desk wasn't friendly and didn't make eye contact. I'll never stay there again. Travelers, beware!

The rooms were disgusting and looked nothing like the photos, which all seem photoshopped. I should have paid attention to that 2.7 rating. Even that feels too generous.

The room was okay, nothing special, but it was cheap. The location was convenient, near restaurants, stores, and I 10. Solo at the front desk was the real bright spot. She greeted us when we came into the lobby and was very respectful and sweet. I saw her again the next morning working in the laundry, and she was just as helpful, making sure we had clean towels and that our stay was going well. She deserves a pat on the shoulder.
