The staff were really kind and helpful, and the place was clean and well looked after. It felt pretty creepy at night since we were almost the only ones there, so I probably wouldn't stay alone, lol. But I'd definitely come back.

The kitchen setup is amazing, and the Principal's Room feels bright and cheerful. Sandy, Kimberly and Kit were fabulous. Staying here lets you enjoy Cripple Creek's history with modern comforts and warm Colorado hospitality. Loved it! ❣️

We came hoping for a paranormal experience, and on the second night, we got one: a kid ghost knocked on the door, then laughed.

April 2024: The historic building and its interior are still beautiful and charming, and the lobby and guest area feel cozy and inviting. The room temperature was adjustable, the TV worked, and the bathroom was clean. It's close to Main Street, with convenient parking, and the Sunday morning staff were super helpful and friendly. But Saturday's 4:30 pm check-in came with prickly, unfriendly staff. The place needs some TLC: the carpet was dirty, the mirrors filthy, and the bedspread was unprotected and filthy too. I found hair in the sheets on the first day. It was late, so I cleaned them as best I could and went to bed. There was hair in the towels by the sink as well. The rates seem to reflect a B&B, though breakfast is more continental now. If breakfast is no longer included in the package, the prices should be adjusted. I love the charm, but I wouldn't stay again. From other reviews, it sounds like this was THE BEST before 2022.

I was here for a new job training in one of the conference areas, so I didn't stay at the hotel. I found out the building used to be a high school, dating back to the 1800s. It's in fantastic shape, with lots of antiques from around the turn of the 18th to 19th century still looking pristine, including the heating system and other major items. If you're into antiques from that period and seeing how people lived back then, don't miss Carr Manor. I've never seen anything quite like it.
