They even opened breakfast a little early so the dancers at a competition could eat before their day got going. That was a thoughtful touch. The pool did have to close unexpectedly while they adjusted the pH, which was disappointing, but I understand safety comes first. We were greeted warmly, the staff were kind and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was very good too. It’s been a great stay, and we’d come back and recommend it.

Our king room was spacious, clean-looking, and smelled fresh. There’s no elevator, so ask for a first-floor room if stairs are a problem. Breakfast had lots of choices, and they brewed their own coffee and kept it available throughout the day. We were welcomed warmly when we arrived for a few days in the Crookston area. A large grocery store and a very good Chinese restaurant are nearby. I’d stay at AmeriVu Inn and Suites again.

We came for a girls’ dance recital and asked about checking in early because of her dance time. They said yes, but wanted a $26 fee. Charging that when the room might not even be ready makes no sense. A lot of little girls were hoping to swim that evening, but the pool was closed, and the explanations didn’t add up. When people asked about it, staff got hostile and rude. The people running this motel were very rude, and I wouldn’t stay there again.

If I’m back in Crookston, I’ll stay here again. The owners were extremely nice, and breakfast was delicious. There’s also a small convenience store with a good variety of affordable things to buy. The room was immaculate and smelled so good that I noted the scent for my own home. This was the best hotel experience I’ve had, even compared with the big, high-end names. The Saturday price was super affordable too. Five stars.

They charged me an extra $20 a night for a rollaway, which was just a twin piece of foam on the floor, no bed at all. I’m a 61-year-old grandma and hadn’t complained until the pool situation. Our second night, after the dance crew had been competing all day, the kids were looking forward to swimming after the competition, from 9 p.m. until closing. But parents were told at 5 p.m. that the pool was shut for the night, and we heard several different explanations. One parent was told nobody would get any kind of discount. Some families had only added that night so the kids could swim, and then they couldn’t. I don’t care about getting money back, but the front desk should have treated people with some respect. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because of how they handled it.
