We were just passing through, but the front desk told us we couldn't stay because of plumbing problems and would need to find another hotel. That seemed fine at first. Later, I found out the staff member had seen the brand-new ATV on our trailer and assumed we were in town to ride. We weren't, we were traveling through. Sleep Inn wasn't honest with us about the plumbing.

The room situation was a mess from the start. At check-in, the receptionist couldn't find our Expedia reservation, so I showed him the booking. He handed over keys to room 324 without checking the confirmation number or asking for ID. The A/C didn't work and it was 84 degrees inside. The TV was crooked, too. He then said that room was marked dirty in his system, though he'd thought it was clean. Room 106 was filthy: dead bugs on the ceiling, vomit residue on the toilet, a toilet that wouldn't refill after flushing, and a bathroom door that wouldn't close. There was black mold near the A/C, and water damage had pulled the floor trim away from the wall. It was late, so I tried to breathe as little as possible while sleeping because I was worried about black mold poisoning. In the morning, I told the front desk woman about the problems. She said she'd try to get us another room when we returned. Later, she couldn't find our reservation and said the man the night before had just given us a room. I had to call Expedia, and they had to call her before we could get another one. I felt like we'd have been out on the street if Expedia hadn't called. We ended up in room 323, which was at least recently cleaned, but had no TV or ironing board. I explained everything to the woman at the desk. She said she'd leave the manager a message to call me Monday, since the magnet takes weekends off. On Monday, I called because no one had called me. The front desk said the manager wasn't in and that she didn't know the manager's schedule. She didn't ask what the issue was or offer a solution. When I asked if she could call the manager, she said she could write down my name and number and leave a message. The customer service was absolutely useless. The manager clearly doesn't care about the property or its customers.

I've had trouble checking in every time. The parking lot can be completely empty, but I'm told there are no rooms or the system is down, so I can't check in. Staff are rude, and the rooms are moldy. In the last room I stayed in, the beds were made, but there were several dirty towels on the floor and sticky stuff on the counters.

The room itself was nice and breakfast was okay. We booked the hotel for a day at the Xtreme off road park, where I lost my ID. Luckily, my boyfriend had his, so we were able to put the room under his name and check in. I left a couple of pairs of clothes behind. Since I live four hours away, I called to ask if the hotel could ship them. At first, they told me I'd have to drive back to pick them up. A few days later, I thought of sending a UPS envelope with a paid return label, but the manager still refuses to help get my clothes back. The women at the front desk were helpful, but they can't do anything because of the manager.

We had a blast on our girls' weekend and are planning to do it again monthly! The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The rooms, hallways, lobby, and breakfast area were all clean and well cared for. Sleep Inn is right off US 90, close to stores and restaurants.
