Red Roof Inn Crossville

The breakfast was nearly gone, with no coffee, one oatmeal packet, a bagel, a squashed slice of bread, and only crumbs in the cereal dispensers. I didn’t feel like eating there anyway. The bedding was filthy looking: stained sheets with hair on them, old torn bed covers, and stained mattress covers and pads. There was hair on the beds and a stained chair, too. I was so grossed out by the stains that I didn’t even finish checking for bedbugs. The clerk was rude when I checked in.

My husband and I stayed for two nights. The room was nice, they allow pets, and there’s truck parking. Waffle House and Cracker Barrel are nearby, with a 7 Eleven right across the street.

The room was hot and smelled musty. At least the shower got hot, but the TV had no batteries and wouldn’t work, and the smoke detector was missing its batteries too. We waited outside for an hour with a guest whose room card wasn’t working. Eventually the guy woke up, put on a shirt, and came out from the back. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, by far.

I liked that the hotel welcomes pets, and that alone would make me stay at a Red Roof again. The room itself was neat, but there was what looked like blood on the bathroom wall and the baseboards were dirty. The lobby didn’t open until around 8 a.m., so I gave up waiting and went to a nearby restaurant.
