Riata Inn Crystal City

The bed was comfortable enough for an overnight stop, and the microwave and fridge both worked. The room was fairly clean, though it could use some renovation after years of use. There wasn’t coffee in the room, and although it was in the office, at 8am the office was still locked with a sign saying they’d be back at 11am. So I couldn’t get coffee for the road or return the TV remote. We were passing through Crystal City on the way to Canada after wintering in Mexico. It’s an older place, but okay for the night.

The staff were super nice, and my large single king room was clean and comfortable. The bed felt just like home. Even with the temperature at 106, the AC kept the room as cold as I like it. The shower was clean and had good pressure, with no rusty drains. I’ll stay here again!

I booked because reviews said the place was clean, but my room wasn’t, and there was hair in the sink. They didn’t answer the phone, and when we arrived the manager was on it. She seemed clearly upset and unhappy about the reservation situation. I don’t recommend it. Pics.

After eight hours of driving, I couldn’t even have a cigarette outside my room without being threatened with a $200 fee. The lady was really rude. When she reads this, she’ll remember us.
