Econo Lodge Crystal River

I’m used to staying at a Hilton, so I was worried after reading the reviews. It’s a roadside motel, and while it isn’t a Hilton, I was pleasantly surprised and would absolutely stay again. The room was dated but clean, the AC was cold, and the water was hot. The bed was firmer than I prefer, but still good. I’d definitely stay here again if I come through town.

The room was basic but nice, and the service was really accommodating. The woman at the front desk let us check in early, add two people to our room, and check out late. I’d booked two days but decided to leave after one, and they refunded the whole unused day even with the late checkout. After being treated that well, I’d definitely stay again.

It’s a motel rather than a high-end hotel, so I knew it wouldn’t be top-notch. Still, the room was clean and perfectly fine for the price. The woman at the front desk was super friendly and accommodating. My wife and I stay at motels a lot because we like walking straight from the car into our room, and I’d come back here.

I couldn’t stay here and had to scramble to find another room. The sheets were dirty and had hair on them, the toilet was broken, and the location was bad. I was also overcharged through choice hotels. I was somehow billed $225 for an original two-night stay that I never used, and it still hasn’t been resolved.
