Best Western Park Heights Inn & Suites

The staff were nice, and that’s the one good thing I can say about the hotel. We arrived in two rooms and were given just two keys total. We were heading to a wedding and short on time, so I didn’t question it. They told me to use the side door near the rooms and said I could just pull it hard without a key. That didn’t feel safe. The hallway smelled sour and damp, like wet carpet covered with air freshener. Only one key worked, so I had to return to the desk; they reconfigured them and gave me four keys. The rooms had plenty of problems. The entrance carpet had large spill stains, there was just one lamp in a double room with two queen beds, and no mirror except in the bathroom. The walls were chipped, with paint marks on the doors and frames. One of the three vanity lights was out, the bedding had stains, and the AC in both rooms made a grinding sound all night. The outside looked neglected, with poor landscaping, film on the lobby windows, and an 18-inch tear through the logo on the entry rug. This is a busy hotel on a major road between I-35 and Houston, with a full parking lot and lots of guests. It’s a name-brand chain, so it should be better. It feels like nobody is trying anymore. And again, the staff were nice.
