Econo Lodge Cuthbert

We were so worn out from traveling and the cold wind that we stayed just one night. The bathroom was in terrible shape: pubic hair on the sink, a drain that wouldn't clear, dirty-looking washcloths and towels, and a bathtub that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The bedding looked slept in, so thank goodness we'd brought our own. Next door, a couple were fighting and slamming each other against the wall, but the clerk refused to call the police and wasn't nice either. We also saw bare wires hanging from the ceiling, with nothing there to warn about or prevent a fire. We reported it to the fire marshal. We're done with econo lodge.

The room was clean and quiet, I felt safe, and the breakfast was just enough for me. It also works perfectly for me and my dogs, so we'll definitely be back. My family usually uses the hotel as a halfway stop between my home in Florida and my brother's place a few hours north in Alabama. On 8/8, my car broke down 8 miles from the hotel, and I ended up staying through the weekend. Traveling solo with my dogs and being stranded for a couple of days was incredibly stressful. The hotel staff were attentive as always and especially kind this weekend. People at Huddle House next door had family with an auto shop who tried to help with my car, though the problem was too big to handle while I was there. Everyone I met over those few days was kind and helpful. When my brother came to tow me to his house, the staff made a point of wishing me safe travels and good luck with the vehicle. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. The staff were professional and had great people skills, and they made us feel welcome and at home. I'd recommend them to plenty of my friends.

On my travels, I've stayed here plenty of times. The rooms are clean, the folks are great, breakfast is continental, and the rates are reasonable. I'll be back. Give them a look.
