Sheraton Suites Akron Cuyahoga Falls

The falls behind the hotel were lovely, and the area has some nice restaurants, interesting shops, and a really cute mini auto museum. The hotel itself is beautiful and newly renovated, with huge rooms, comfy beds and pillows, a microwave, and a large fridge that fit our wine. The bathroom had a separate toilet room, two shower heads, and nice toiletries, including liquid hand soap. The body wash and lotion were nice too. We tried the breakfast buffet, made-to-order breakfast, drinks at the bar, and dessert. Everything was tasty, though a bit overpriced, as hotel food often is. A few things held the stay back. There were no bathroom hooks for towels or even a hand towel, so we had to hang wet ones on the living room furniture. I can't remember another hotel without a complimentary coffee bar in the lobby. They could also make much more of the falls and patio by setting out chairs with fire pits for coffee in the morning or relaxing in the evening, with the falls beautifully lit. I'd have loved to grab coffee in the lobby and sit by the falls. That alone would bring me back. We chose this hotel over another because its website said there was a hot tub. It was permanently closed, but no one told us until after check-in. Such a letdown. The hot tub area has huge windows and a patio overlooking the falls, and using it would have made morning coffee or late-night relaxing so much nicer.

This is based only on my friend's positive report about her stay and my own visit to the restaurant downstairs. She loved her room and said the reception staff were awesome. There's a nice parking lot, and the price was reasonable. The server was suuuper nice. The breakfast buffet food was horrendous. It reminded me of the free, rubbery continental breakfast at Hampton Inns, just served in a fancy dining room. We sat on the side with an ugly view, but it was close to the food. The chairs were really uncomfortable.

We've celebrated a lot at the Sheraton over the years, from hosting parties and golf outings to enjoying the restaurant and pool. Last night, we marked three birthdays in the lounge overlooking the river on a beautiful snowy evening. The service was outstanding again. Ryan, as usual, went above and beyond and helped us get a great family photo. The Sheraton has been a Cuy Falls staple for years. We're lucky to have this gem in our city, and even luckier to have the wonderful people who work there and make it fabulous.

We were in town for work and stayed one night, but the waterfall just outside the open window made the place feel like a mini-holiday. It rushed right below us, and I couldn't look away. The room was huge, spotless, and even smelled like fresh linen. Staff were so warm and kept checking if we needed anything. Perfect location, strongly recommend.
